South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) requires that security guards serving in South Carolina be initially trained before working and receive subsequent yearly training updates. To be a certified instructor, one must attend even more in-depth training and receive yearly updates as well. Due to these demands, many security guard services in Horry County relay on bigger, third-party companies to have their guards trained.
Even though we are a small business, we knew this wouldn't work for us. Our founder and head of training has over 15 years of experience working as a police officer in one of the biggest cities in America. The professionalism and competence that comes from being under such a high standard of scrutiny for so long means that our expecatations for security guard performance are also lofty. That's why we train all of our guards in-house.
FYI, we open our training sessions to outside companies and guards. If you are a guard or represent a security company in need of initial or yearly SLED training, feel free to reach out to check our training calendar. We offer SLED Safeguard Primary Basic and Primary Plus training (both armed and unarmed).
